DAY ONE DNA + CADOGAN TATE

The partnership between DAY ONE DNA and Cadogan Tate brings together two hip hop icons, a groundbreaking cultural archive, and the world’s premier fine art logistics and collections management firm. Rooted in the personal archives preserved by Ice T and DJ Afrika Islam, the exhibition explores intersections of artistry, race, masculinity, and reinvention through artifacts that reflect not only the evolution of hip-hop but broader cultural narratives embedded within it. This partnership ensures that these historically significant materials are stewarded according to the highest museum standards, aligning cultural legacy with institutional rigor.

As part of Cadogan Tate’s broader partnership initiative to support culturally significant archives and expand pathways into institutional spaces, the company sponsored DAY ONE DNA pop-up installations across the US, including international art fairs  EXPO Chicago and Art Basel Miami. These pop-ups introduce the exhibition to curators, collectors, and museum leadership across the global contemporary art landscape. For Cadogan Tate, the partnership reinforces its leadership in stewarding culturally significant collections as institutional definitions of heritage continue to evolve. Together, DAY ONE DNA and Cadogan Tate are redefining how hip-hop history is preserved and integrated into museum contexts, ensuring these narratives endure for generations to come.
